Capacitors

Capacitors store electric charge. They are used with resistors in timing circuits because it takes time for a capacitor to fill with charge. They are used to smooth varying DC supplies by acting as a reservoir of charge. They are also used in filter circuits because capacitors easily pass AC (changing) signals but they block DC (constant) signals.

MAGNETISM

Magnetism is a property of materials that respond at an atomic or subatomic level to an applied magnetic field.

Magnetism Rules

This rule is used for the determining the direction of magnetic field. If we rotate screw in the cork by a screwdriver.

MAGNETIC FLUX

The total number of magnetic lines of force of a magnet is called magnetic flux. It is represented by phi (ϕ) and its unit is Weber.

WORK POWER AND ENERGY

When force is applied on a body and that body covers certain distance in the direction of the force, the work is said to be done.

Insulation Resistance Test on a Transformer

Insulation resistance test on a class 1 and class 2 transformers.

Diodes

Diodes allow electricity to flow in only one direction. The arrow of the circuit symbol shows the direction in which the current can flow. Diodes are the electrical version of a valve and early diodes were actually called valves.

BRANCH CURRENT METHOD

In the branch current method Kirchhoff's voltage and current laws are used to solve for the current in each branch of a circuit. Once the branch currents are known, voltages can be determined. Read more about BRANCH CURRENT METHOD

LAWS OF RESISTANCE

The resistance of a material depends upon the fallowing four factors, which are called laws of resistance. Read more about LAWS OF RESISTANCE

ENERGY BAND

When no of atoms is combining then the whole energy levels are dividing in sub energy levels and become overlapped. They make a band, which is called energy band. Remember that the energy of free electron is changing continuously. Read more about ENERGY BAND
